Hurricanes used to be the big thing in the summer months, now it seems the trend is oil spills. More than 40,000 US gallons of oil gushed into the Yellowstone River (in Montana) before the pipeline was shut down on Friday. ExxonMobil has been slow in cleanup efforts due to the river’s record high flooding.
I’m not sure how bad the damage is yet, but Montana is home to some of the world’s most beautiful rivers and landscapes – not to mention all the wildlife that call the Yellowstone River “home.”
